In addition to my professional life, I’ve waitressed, been a bartender, and worked in retail. I’ve also loved cooking and creating beautiful food and learning about wine and drinks. Oh, and eating and drinking generally too.
I am a qualified journalist and as a private consultant I’ve worked with cafés and winery organisations – along with a bunch of other industries. But my first love is food and wine. Throughout my career I’ve written promotional materials, developed communication strategies that fly, edited books, advised senior managers and executives, organised and managed events – and a host of other things.
Although I spend a lot of time working alone, I am a team player and skilled at taking briefs, brainstorming, writing, collaborating … you name it, I do it and I thrive when I can do my work collaboratively when needed.
Some of what I do includes:
- writing and developing content for websites and blogs
- writing food and travel related editorial for professional publications
- writing reviews
- promotional and creative writing
- developing targeted marketing communications plans so you can better engage with your customers and audience
- developing and managing social media, so you’re visible in the global marketplace.
Plans and strategies are the backbone of all communication-focused activities and I am known for creating solid frameworks from which you can then determine the best course of action. I continue to work together with clients to make stuff happen, with objectives to monitor so successes can be measured and things can be tweaked to work better if required, because let’s face it, sometimes life alters course and we need to alter ours along with it.
So if you’re looking at increasing cellar door sales, want to get more people in for lunch, wondering what the latest hotel beds feel like or just want a monthly blog update, contact me for a catchup and I’ll be in touch with you just as soon as I can.
