Bliss balls come in many flavours, but the basis is the same: organic dried fruits, seeds, cacao and other simple ingredients according to your taste. For me, fresh dates are a favourite and as long as you can achieve a balance between moisture content and dry ingredients, the only hindrance to success is your imagination.
The recipe below is one I’ve made several times and the flavour profile is more like a chocolate treat rather than a healthy raw food treat. That makes them PERFECT for snacks, whether at work or for the kids’ lunchboxes.
Just one tip: when rolling the balls, just run your hands under cool water every now and then and keep moist. It helps the mixture roll smoothly and doesn’t stick to your hands as much so keeps the mess down.
Also note that I use organic, preservative free ingredients where possible, including my coconut. I source these ingredients from organic wholefood shops in my local area. I also like using a little quality raw honey in mine, but leave this out for vegans or if you don’t need the sweetness, or you could replace the honey with maple syrup or another sweetener of your choice.
